Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 August 2026
This policy explains what we collect when you use easyfurnished.com, why we collect it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than the usual fog.
On this page
1. Who we are
EasyFurnished advertises fully furnished apartments for rent across the United States and connects renters with the owners of those properties. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means EasyFurnished. When it says "you", it means anyone using our website — whether you're looking to rent, or you own a property you'd like us to advertise.
2. What we collect
If you apply for an apartment
The application form asks for the things a landlord needs in order to decide. Specifically:
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number
- Your move — desired move-in date and how flexible it is, how long you want to stay, how many adults and children will live there, how many vehicles, and whether you have pets
- Employment and income — employment status, employer, job title, gross monthly income, and whether you can provide proof of it
- Screening information — your credit score range, whether you've had an eviction or broken lease in the last seven years, whether anyone in the household smokes, and whether a co-signer is available
- Viewing preferences — how and when you'd like to see the property
- Anything else you type in the free-text notes box
We ask you to confirm this information is accurate and to authorise a background and credit check before you submit. We do not ask for your Social Security number, date of birth or bank details through this website, and you should never send them to us by email.
If you list a property with us
- Your name, email, phone number and your role in relation to the property
- The property's address, type, size, layout and furnishing level
- Your asking rent, deposit, minimum lease and availability date
- Amenities, parking, laundry and pet policy
- Any photographs you upload, and any notes you write for our team
Automatically
Our website does not run analytics, advertising trackers or third-party scripts that follow you around the internet. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — the sort of thing every web server records, including IP addresses and pages requested — for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we collect it
- To match you with a property. Your dates, budget, household and pet situation determine which apartments are actually available to you.
- To pass a complete application to the owner. Screening questions are asked once, here, rather than four times across four landlords.
- To arrange your viewing and to answer your questions.
- To advertise a property you've asked us to list.
- To run the business — keeping records, preventing fraud and abuse, and meeting our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Who we share it with
Property owners and managers
When you apply for a specific apartment, we share your application with the owner or manager of that property so they can make a decision. We share it only for the property you applied for. We do not circulate your application to unrelated landlords.
Screening providers
If a background or credit check is run as part of an application, it is carried out by a third-party consumer reporting agency. Those checks are governed by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, which gives you the right to be told if information in a report was used to turn you down, and to dispute anything inaccurate in it.
Companies that help us operate
- Supabase — stores our database and the photographs uploaded to the site
- Hostinger — hosts the website itself
- Resend — delivers notification emails to our team
These providers process information on our behalf, under their own security obligations. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
When the law requires it
We may disclose information if we're legally required to, or where we believe in good faith that it's necessary to protect someone's safety, investigate fraud, or defend our legal rights.
5. How long we keep it
- Applications that don't lead to a tenancy — kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Fair housing rules require us to be able to show how applications were handled.
- Applications that lead to a tenancy — kept for the duration of the lease and for up to seven years afterwards, in line with normal record-keeping for tenancy and tax purposes.
- Property listings and owner submissions — kept while the property is listed with us and for a reasonable period afterwards.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See section 7.
6. How we protect it
Applications are stored in an encrypted database with access rules that prevent anyone browsing the public website from reading them. Only authenticated members of our team can view application data, each with their own login. The website is served over HTTPS, so anything you type into a form is encrypted in transit.
No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you as required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information, where we're not legally required to keep it
- Stop contacting you about a property or about our services generally
Email info@easyfurnished.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first — we're not going to hand someone else's rental application to a stranger who emails us.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and some other states have additional statutory rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honour those requests regardless of where you live. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
8. Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. The site may store small amounts of data in your own browser to remember things like a filter you selected — that stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request. If that concerns you, most browsers let you block it.
9. Children
This website is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Application forms ask how many children will live in the property — that's household composition provided by an adult applicant, not information collected from a child. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Fair housing
We are committed to equal housing opportunity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin, or on any basis protected by state or local law. Screening questions on our application relate to a person's ability to meet the terms of a lease, and nothing else.
If you believe you've been discriminated against, you can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at hud.gov/fairhousing.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information you've already given us will be notified to you by email where we have your address.
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
